Casio
Casio Computer Co., Ltd. is a Japanese electronics company headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo. It is not part of a watch group, and timepieces make up the largest share of its sales. It is known for digital watches such as G-Shock and the F-91W, as well as calculators and electronic musical instruments.

History
Casio began in April 1946, when engineer Tadao Kashio opened a small workshop, Kashio Seisakujo, in Mitaka, Tokyo. It first took on subcontracting work such as microscope parts and gears, and his younger brothers Toshio, Kazuo and Yukio later joined him. In June 1957 the brothers released the 14-A, a relay-based electric calculator, and Casio Computer Co., Ltd. was incorporated the same month. Calculators remained the core business through the 1960s and 1970s; the personal Casio Mini series, launched in 1972, sold more than ten million units. Casio entered the watch market in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose calendar adjusted automatically for months of different lengths. Calculator, data-bank and world-time watches followed. In 1981 engineer Kikuo Ibe began work on a watch that would survive a ten-metre fall, resist water to 10 bar and run ten years on one battery. The result, the first G-Shock, the DW-5000C, went on sale in 1983. The F-91W followed in 1989. Today Casio's watch lines include G-Shock, Baby-G, Edifice, Oceanus and Pro Trek, and timepieces are the company's largest business.

F-91W
The F-91W is a digital quartz watch that Casio introduced in June 1989 as the successor to the F-87W. Designed by Ryūsuke Moriai, it has a 38.2 x 35.2 x 8.5 mm resin case with a stainless steel caseback and weighs 21 grams. Its Module 593 provides an alarm, a stopwatch timing to 1/100 of a second and a calendar, and runs for about seven years on a single CR2016 battery.
