Tissot
Tissot is a Swiss watch brand founded in Le Locle in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile, and it is still based there. Part of the Swatch Group, it makes mid-priced mechanical and quartz watches, including the PRX, Le Locle and T-Touch.

History
Charles-Félicien Tissot, a case maker, and his son Charles-Émile, a watchmaker, founded the company in their home in Le Locle in 1853. Charles-Émile travelled to Russia in 1858 and sold the firm's pocket watches across the Russian Empire, which became Tissot's largest market; his son Charles moved to Moscow in 1885 to run the branch there. Around 1930 Tissot made one of the first antimagnetic wristwatches. After the 1929 crash it formed an alliance with Omega, and in 1930 the two created SSIH under Paul Tissot-Daguette. Tissot first served as a timekeeper in 1938, at a series of ski races in Villars-sur-Ollon. It also experimented with materials: the Idea 2001 of 1971 was made of plastic and the RockWatch of 1985 of Alpine granite, followed by mother-of-pearl and wood watches in 1987 and 1988. SSIH merged with ASUAG in 1983, and the group took the name Swatch Group in 1998. In 1999 Tissot launched the T-Touch, with a touch-sensitive sapphire crystal. The PRX, first released in 1978, was relaunched in 2021 and became a major commercial success. The company's motto is "Innovators by Tradition".

Le Locle
The Le Locle collection is named after the town in the Swiss Jura where Tissot was founded in 1853. It is a classic automatic watch with Roman numerals, a textured dial and a date window. Current models use the Powermatic 80 automatic movement, with a power reserve of up to 80 hours.

PRX
The PRX was first released in 1978 as a steel watch with a case integrated into its bracelet. Its name stands for Precise, Robust and X, the Roman numeral 10, for its 10-bar (100 m) water resistance. Tissot relaunched it in 2021 in quartz and Powermatic 80 automatic versions, and it became one of the brand's most successful models. The watch in the photo is a 35 mm PRX Powermatic 80.
